David Quannah Strange, 84, passed away Friday, July 26, 2019.
Funeral service will be held at 10 am on Monday, July 29, 2019 at the War Memorial Building in Panhandle, Texas. Burial will follow in Panhandle Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Panhandle.
David was born March 11, 1935 in Fort Cobb, Oklahoma. He married Amy June Holden on December 24, 1952 in Las Cruces, New Mexico. David retired as a Master Sergeant from the United States Army. David was a hardworking man who worked as a janitor to put himself through school. He took very good care of his wife, children and grandchildren. In fact anything the kids wanted to do outside they always asked him. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, on those hunting trips Carla and Jimmy were used to flush out the birds or whatever they were hunting. In his later years in Germany he collected stamps and also enjoyed recycling.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Amy Strange; one grandchild; one great grandchild; and brother, Lonnie Strange.
Survivors include his daughters, Carla Jo Martinez of Panhandle, Jo K. Strange of Amarillo, Donna Strange of Erick, Oklahoma, Linda Martinez of Amarillo, Paula Poole and husband Rex of Panhandle; fifteen grandchildren; numerous great and great-great grandchildren.
