Delbert Franklin

Delbert Lynn Franklin, 76, passed away Thursday, February 23, 2023.

Funeral service will be held at 2:30 pm on Tuesday, February 28, 2023, at Celebration Family Church.  Burial will be at 4 pm at Memorial Park Cemetery in Amarillo.  In lieu of flowers his memory may be honored with a gift to Fritch Meals on Wheels, PO Box 366, Fritch, Texas 79036 or the High Plains Food Bank, 815 Ross St., Amarillo, Texas 79102.

Delbert was born March 22, 1946, in Honey Grove, Texas to Russell Franklin and Audrey Tilson Franklin.  He proudly served in the United States Air Force as a Staff Sargent.  Delbert married Lenda Kay Baker on January 9, 1974, in Stinnett.  He enjoyed going to casinos, smoking meat, golfing and going to the gun range.   Delbert was an active member at Celebration Family Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Audrey Franklin; wife, Lenda Franklin; brothers, Larry Franklin, Ronnie Franklin; and sister, Sue Mitchell.

Survivors include his sons, Jerry Len Elliott, Sr. and wife Ofelia of Stinnett, Randy Elliott and wife Jennifer of Amarillo; daughter, Rhonda Kay Kessler and husband Pete of Seagoville, Texas; grandchildren, Kevin Hamilton, Jerry Len Elliott, Jr. and wife Amanda, Whitney Walker and husband Darby, Brendon Moss and wife Aly, Sammy Chase Elliott and wife Anna, Emory Elliott, Jacey Elliott, Brittaini Anderson, Steven Anderson; eleven great grandchildren; half-sister, Mary McNatt of Amarillo; nephews, Rodney Franklin, Lyndale Franklin; niece, Staci Seiber; and a host of extended family.
