Dennis Valdy “Val” Comer, 95, of Borger passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2024, in Borger. Funeral Services will be at 1:00 pm on Friday, July 5, 2024, at Kingdom Hall Jehovah’s Witness. Burial will follow in Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. There will be a visitation of Family and friends on Thursday, July 4, 2024, at the funeral home from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
Val was born in Borger to Dennis English and Hattie Irene (Rich) Comer on August 25, 1928. He started playing music professionally as a drummer at the age of thirteen. He was a longtime player of the saxophone. He also loved classic cars. He was baptized Jehovah Witness May 4, 1963. He enjoyed serving as a Jehovah Witness. He retired from North Plains Hospital in 1978 as a maintenance engineer then later retired from the city of Borger in 1996.
Preceding him in death are his parents, wife Ruby, son David Comer, Daughter Debbie Comer, and a great grandson Andrew Wilt.
Surviving are his sons Dustin and wife Jessica, Dennis and wife Lisa, Darin, and wife Reina all of Borger. Daughter Lisa Paulson of Borger. Sister Velma Smothermon of Hooker, OK. Grandchildren Jason Wright and wife Jami, Ashley Marquez and husband Mark, Alexis Alders and husband Kyle, Levi Comer, Shay Wilt, Caleb Comer, Candace Comer, Tasia Bos, Damaris Washington, Aurora Silva and husband Jonathan, Jacinda Garcia, Zerrious Bryant, Zedekiah Bryant, Cory Johnson and wife Gipsy, Micah Johnson, David Wheat, Dana Rector, Melissa Bitner, Ricky Waltrop. Great grandchildren Tyler Wright, Alissa Marquez, Caden Marquez, Lydia Wilt, Olivia Wilt, Liliana Johnson, and van Johnson. Several great great grandchildren.
