Dennis Earl Howard, 74, passed away leaving behind a legacy of love, family, and countless cherished memories on Tuesday, September 24, 2024.

Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 30, 2024, at Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. The family will receive friends from 2-4 pm on Sunday, September 29, 2024, at the funeral home.

Dennis was born December 27, 1949, in Kemp, Oklahoma to Hubert Howard and Clara “Merle” Wilson Howard. He married Deborah Kay Morrow on August 30, 1969, in Panhandle. Dennis was a dedicated family man, and he was a rock for all those who knew him, always putting the needs of his loved ones first. He had a deep love for the outdoors and spent countless weekends at his cabin in Eagles Nest, where he found peace and joy in the tranquility of nature. Whether fishing in the nearby streams or simply enjoying the beauty of the landscape, the cabin was his sanctuary. A true die-hard Dallas Cowboy fan, Dennis never missed a game, faithfully supporting his team through every season. Dennis’s heart was as big as his passion for life, and he took immense pride in caring for his family. His presence at family gatherings, his warmth, and his unwavering support will be deeply missed by all who knew him. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Clara “Merle” Howard; wife, Deborah Kay Morrow Howard; son, David Howard; and brother, David Howard.

Survivors include son Richard Howard and his wife Reagan of Minco, Oklahoma; daughter-in-law, Candace Howard of Minco, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Aspen Ryans and husband Blake, Talon, Haven, Hailey; brother, Danny Howard and wife Brenda; sisters, Patricia Overby, Lela Jane Hynes, Myrna Sue Nickens, Reba Ann Tucker; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family.
