Dennis Mathews

Dennis Lee Mathews, 74, passed away Friday, January 28, 2022 in Amarillo. He will have a joint service with his wife Carolyn at 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 31 at the Fritch Church of Christ with Mr. Richard Kasko officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 4:00 Sunday afternoon at Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Fritch.

Dennis was born March 29, 1947 in Wheeler, TX to William P. Mathews and Bessie Lorene Mann Mathews. He graduated from Borger High School in 1965 and was the owner of NAPA Auto Parts Store. He married Carolyn Ruth Tilson June 9, 1965 at the Fritch Church of Christ. Most of all, Dennis loved his kids and grandkids, but he also loved drag racing, shooting and playing his guitar. He enjoyed working with his hands and could fix just about anything.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Carolyn.

Dennis is survived by his son Steve Mathews and his wife Diana of Canyon, his two daughters Denise Mason and her husband Todd of Canyon and Donna Jameson and her husband Hank of Fritch, his grandkids Jared Mathews, Devin Sibley, Lex Mathews, Cole Mason, Kamryn Mason, Devin Sibley and Delise Sibley, his two great grandchildren Caleb and Laykin, his sister Joyce Williams of Borger.
