Don Parker

Don Parker, 69, passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2014 in Amarillo.

Funeral service will held at 11 am Friday, February 21, 2014 at Eternal Light Church with Pastor Willie Adams, officiating. Burial will follow at Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Donald Ray Parker was born December 7, 1944 in Pampa, Texas to David and Odessa Parker. He was a retired operator for Sid Richardson Carbon Company. He had worked over 34 years between Phillips and Sid Richardson.

Don married Judy Welch Parker on May 18, 1988 in Amarillo. He was the love of her life.

He enjoyed golfing, fishing and gold mining. Don loved to play the machines at the VFW with his friends. He loved gardening, barbequing and playing yahtzee. Don was loved by everyone, had a sweet disposition and a big heart. He will be missed by all.

Preceding him in death are his parents, David and Odessa Parker three brothers, Dean, Bud, and Jim stepson, Richie Eakins and his Shar Pei, Harley Bear that lit up his life.

Survivors include his wife, Judy son, Jeff Parker, who was his pride and joy, and his girlfriend Jenna Gabel of Amarillo two daughters, Debi Opiela, his little girl, and her husband, Dennis of Crosby, Texas, Kim Wimmer, who he loved with all his heart, and her husband, Calvin of Redondo Beach,California two stepchildren, Dorrie Sanford of Borger, Morris Eakins and girlfriend Kelly George of Borger, that he raised as his own a special sister, Joan Nash of Amarillo one brother, Bob Parker of Pampa, who he was very close to fifteen grandchildren four great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
