Donald Wayne Gandy

Donald Wayne Gandy, 81, passed away Thursday, October 5, 2023.

Funeral services will be held at 10 am on Monday, October 9, 2023, at First Methodist Church of Panhandle.  Burial will follow in Panhandle Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Panhandle.  The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Sunday, October 8, 2023, at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers his memory may be honored with a gift to Texas Oncology Amarillo Cancer Center, Kinder Hearts Hospice of Amarillo, or a charity of choice.

Donald was born December 27, 1941, in Shamrock, Texas to George Gandy and Annie Elender Julian Gandy.  He married Sharon on February 17, 1962.  He enjoyed fishing, farming, cruising around town, tinkering and piddling.  Nothing brought more joy to his life than his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren; he was so proud of them all.

He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Annie Gandy; wife, Sharon Gandy; grandson, Scott Alan; and son-in-law, Jimmy Witt.

Survivors include his son, Brian Gandy and wife Sandra of Panhandle; daughter, Toni Witt of Panhandle; grandchildren, Brianna Blair and husband Brandon, Meagan Witt, Seth Witt, Kami Freeman and husband Thomas, Justin Gandy and wife Angela, Shayla Gandy (favorite grandkid) and fiancé Jakob Weinheimer; ten great grandchildren; brother, Michael Gandy and wife Mary of Pampa; sister, Betty Carol Glazner and husband Preston of Lubbock; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family.
