Dora Loudena Vann Snider, at age 84 passed peacefully on December 18, 2023 at 10 pm surrounded by family, after complications following hip surgery. Her Celebration of Life will be 2:00 Friday, December 22 at Minton Memorial Chapel with Ricky Griffin officiating. Burial will follow at Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Fritch. The family will greet friends Thursday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Fritch Funeral Home.
She was born in Davenport, Oklahoma on March 13, 1939 to Florene and Lester Vann. Dora Lou grew up in Spring Creek, Texas where she attended elementary and middle school, and later Borger High School.
Dora Lou married Lonnie Wayne Snider on May 26, 1956 in Haile Baptist Church in Spring Creek. Together they built a life in Fritch, Texas and had 3 children. Debra Lynn Snider, Lee Wayne Snider and Cynthia Ann Barber (Snider). They were married 63 years prior to Lonnie’s passing in 2019.
Since her retirement from Canadian River Municipal Water Authority her main interests were her family and her garden. She loved to show off her beautiful flowers and her yard was her happy place. She loved all her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was the glue that held her family together.
She was proceeded in death by her parents Florene and Lester Vann, her husband Lonnie Wayne Snider, and her great grandchild Caden Taylor Hampton.
Dora Lou is survived in life by her brother Lee Don Vann and wife Karen Vann, her daughter Debra Lynn Snider and adopted daughter Donna Moore, her son Lee Wayne Snider and his wife Tina, her daughter Cynthia Ann Barber and her husband Rod. Her grandchildren: Jennifer Barber, Christopher Snider and wife Debbie, and Jordan Snider. Great Grandchildren: Coleson Hampton, Elise Hinders, Marshall Hinders and Presley Snider.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Randy and Kay Griffin for their continued support all the years in their love and care for Dora Lou. Also, a thank you to the staff at Northwest Texas Hospital for their compassion and care of our mother in her last hours.
