Dorothy Gillum

Dorothy Lucille Gillum 89 - Jan 29, 1919 - April 26, 2008. Dorothy was born in Muskogee, OK. where she developed her equestrian hobby and secretarial skills while attending parochial school. She went to work for Phillips Petroleum in Bartlesville, Ok, where she met and married Daniel Gillum in 1945 and was later transferred to Phillips, TX. She raised 3 children, Joe, Tom, and Ruth Ellen, while she studied art and painting. BRBRA devout wife, mother, and Christian, Dorothy attended the First Presbyterian Church of Borger, Christ as Life, and Abundant Life, where she sang in the choir, and witnessed for the Lord. She moved to Dallas in 1996 and attended Christ as Life Mission in McKinney.BRBRPreceded by parents Albert Sidney Lee, Sr, and Julia Byrd Lee of Muskogee, Ok., also sister Virginia Reed, brother Albert Sidney Lee, Jr. Husband, Daniel Gillum, daughter, Ruth Ellen, and grandson, James Gillum. She leaves 2 children, a grand-daughter and a great grandson, and many friends who will miss her greatly.BRBRGraveside celebration at Westlawn Memorial Park, Fritch Hwy, 12:00 noon Friday May 2, 2008 with Rev. David Miller presiding. Local arrangements are under the direction of MintonChatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
