Dorothy Alice Proffitt, 85, of Panhandle died Friday July 8th in Panhandle. Graveside services will be Tuesday July 12th at 10:00 am at Panhandle Cemetery with Mr. Mitch Wiggains, Minister of Panhandle Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be in Panhandle Cemetery under the direction of MintonChatwell Funeral Directors of Panhandle.

Dorothy was born Feb. 28, 1926 at McRoberts, Kentucky to Jeremiah and Ida Proffitt. She has been a Panhandle resident since 1953. She was a member of the Church of Christ and loved to sing hymns as a group. She also loved to crochet, knitting and gardening. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother James Dec, 2010.

She is survived by her sister in law Ruth Proffitt of Panhandle. Nieces Mary Proffitt of Garland, Texas and Sharon Sitterley of Lynchburg, Virginia.
