Dorothy Stifle

February 17, 1911 — June 29, 2012

At 101 years of age, Dorothy Elizabeth Rhoads Stifle went to be with her Lord on June 29, 2012. Born in Willis, Oklahoma on February 17, 1911, she had lived in the Texas Panhandle since 1926.

Dorothy had a tremendous work ethic, and was well loved for her multiple acts of generosity and kindness and for her sweet nature. An avid gardner, she could be found mornings and evenings on her front porch, enjoying her blossoming flowers and the well tended plants. As a member of the Trinity Church of the Nazarene for over sixty years, she lived in the grace and care of her Heavenly Father. Arrangements are under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Predeceased by her four brothers and four sisters, Dorothy was widowed in 1967 when her husband, G.L. Pete Stifle, went to be with the Lord. Dorothy had lived in Borger with her daughter and only child, Marilyn Erickson, for the past thirty seven years.

Additional survivors include: Granddaughter Sandy Cook of Desoto, Texas Granddaughter Randye Hedgecoke and wife Andrea Beth Damsky of Lamesa, California Great Granddaughter Kacie Mendez, husband Jon Paul, and their sons Caleb and Matthew of Newark, Texas Great Grandson Clayton Todd Cook, wife Alexis, and their daughter Dallee of Desoto, Texas. Dorothy is also survived by many, many nieces and nephews.

Dorothys family expresses their appreciation to Dr. Weber and to Dr. Landers and to all the staff of the Golden Plains Hospital Marilyn Erickson especially wants to recognize the support and care shown by the Golden Plains Home Health Care staff over the past few weeks.

Dorothys family fulfilled her request that her body be donated to the Texas Tech School of Medicine and she had asked that there be no funeral or memorial service. Because I live, ye shall live also. John 14:19
