Earl A. Liles Jr., 70, of Amarillo, formerly of Fritch, died Wednesday, May 3, 2012 in Amarillo.
A private family service was held. Arrangements are under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Earl was born March 30, 1942 in Miami, Florida to Earl Arvin Liles Sr. and Margaret Elizabeth McMillon Liles. He proudly served our county in the U.S. Army during the Korean War , and in the U.S. Air Force during Vietnam. Earl married Patricia Russell February 28, 1975 in Sanford. They have lived in Amarillo for the last three years, moving from Fritch. Earl was a electrical supervisor at the BWXT Pantex plant where he worked for 22 years. He was a member of the VFW, loved and cherished his family very much, he was loved by everyone. Earl liked to drink coffee, play chess, card games, and do carpentry work. He was a man of all trades.
Survivors include his wife Pat of the home son Steven Liles and wife Jamie of Amarillo two daughters Patricia Ann Walker of Phoenix, Arizona, Mindy Hobgood and husband Lynn of Las Vegas, Nevada grandchildren Parker Liles, Heather Veit, Mason Skidmore, Anthony Walker, Serena Kinney, and Christopher Cyphers greatgrandchildren Hayden, Skylynn, Landyn, and Kaylynn.
Earl is preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Tonya Moon, and a brother Glenn Liles.
