Earl LaVern Smith

Earl LaVern Smith, 91, passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2025.

Graveside services will be held at 2 pm on Friday, January 24, 2025, at Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. In lieu of flowers his memory may be honored with a gift to the American Heart Association or American Stroke Association, PO Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692 or to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116-7023.

LaVern was born March 23, 1933, in Hollis, Oklahoma to Earl Thruston Smith and Florence Odell Hays Smith. He married Audra Fae Partin on February 26, 1956, in Garden City, Kansas. LaVern proudly served in the United States Army. He retired after 37 years of service from Phillips 66. LaVern enjoyed doing genealogy, target shooting, fishing, watching the Borger Bulldogs; and watching the Dallas Cowboys. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Florence Smith; and sister, Nova Frick Bowman. 

Survivors include his wife, Fae Smith of Borger; daughters, Rhonda Sudbrink and husband Tim of Borger, Pamela Flores and husband John of Borger; four grandchildren, Matthew Smith and wife Andraya, Aaron Sudbrink and wife Kaci, Bryan Sudbrink, Jennifer Parker and husband Mike; and eight great grandchildren.
