Edith Grubbs

Edith Lucille "Memaw" Grubbs, 92, passed from this life Monday, December 20, 2021 in Amarillo.  Graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Monday at Jester Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. Bro. Ben Vanvacter will officiate.

Edith was born August 24, 1929 in Soper, Oklahoma to Andrew Jackson Nowell and Girtha Nowell. She married Orville Samuel Grubbs "Pepaw" May 15, 1948 and was a Sales Associate for J. C. Penneys for thirty three years.  She loved her family especially her grandkids and great grandkids, she was always available to keep her grandbabies. She was a quilter and baked red velvet cakes that were so good, they auctioned them of at the family reunions.  She sold her famous baby quilts, soap covers and pillow cases at craft shows all over the area.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son Sammy Carol Grubbs, Four Sisters and Four Brothers.

Edith is survived by her daughter Judy Robinson of Borger, her son Alan Clint Grubbs of Denton, TX, her five grandchildren Mandy Boyer, Zack Montague and his wife Aundrea, Andrew, Sarah and Lindsey, her eleven great-grandchildren Chase Boyer, Taelyn and Bristol Montague, Alexis Donnell, Landon Walker, Jaxxon Grubbs, Vercy Charleston, Lucy Grubbs, Kennedy Grubbs, Abel Grubbs and Amelia Grubbs, her brother Roy Nowell and his wife Betty of Oklahoma City and her sister Peggy Sanchez of Colorado.

The family will receive friends Sunday December 26, 2021 at the funeral home from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m.
