Edith Frances (Ralstin) Schriber, 97 years old of Borger, Texas passed to her eternal rest on August 7th, 2024. Edith and her twin brother, Elmer, were born on March 11, 1927, in a dug out home 15 miles North of Guymon, Oklahoma to Corbett and Evy (Brown) Ralstin.
She attended Friendship Elementary School and moved to Guymon to attend high school, from which she graduated in 1945. She attended beauty school in Wichita, Kansas, and worked in Guymon, where she met Dean Eccles Schriber. He had served in the Army during World War II. They married on November 25, 1948. When Dean was called back to service in the Korean War, she lived in Wichita, Kansas, with her sister and worked at the Cessna Aircraft factory, a true “Rosie the Riveter”.
After the wars, they settled in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. Dean worked for Phillips and she worked in the bank. While in Pauls Valley, they adopted 2 children, Lisa Suzan and Dean Kirk. In 1965, Dean was transferred to Borger, Texas.
Edith was an accomplished seamstress and an amazing artist. She enjoyed reading and crafting. She was a member of the Borger Creative Arts Club and a faithful member of the Church of Christ at Borger.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dean; and brothers Elmer, Donald (Bus), Herman, Hiram Ralstin; and sisters, Mary Delano, Clara Wooden, and Ester Kleffman, along with several nieces and nephews.
Edith is survived by her daughter, Suzan, and her son, Kirk, both of Borger; her brother Ray Ralstin of Guymon, and a host of nieces, nephews, and many friends.
