Edward Mayfield

Edward G. "Eddie" Mayfield, 67, passed away Sunday, August 19, 2018.

Funeral service will be held 2 pm on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at First Baptist Church of Panhandle with Pastor Rob Lackey and Pastor Josh Light, officiating. Burial will follow in Panhandle Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Panhandle. In lieu of flowers his memory may be honored with a gift to the Panhandle Country Club.

Eddie was born August 15, 1951 in Shidler, Oklahoma to Herman Edward Mayfield and Gertrude Olive Badley. He married Carol Jean Metcalf on February 18, 1977 at First Christian Church of Panhandle. He retired from Pantex after 40 years of service as an inspector. He loved to play golf and watch baseball. Nothing brought more joy to his life than his grandkids.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Sharron Stanley.

Survivors include his wife, Carol of Panhandle; sons, Kevin Mayfield and wife Lisa of Panhandle, Greg Mayfield of Panhandle; daughter, Pamela Hammer and husband Robert of Panhandle; nine grandchildren; and brother, Raymond Mayfield.
