Edward Rowh

June 16, 1927 — December 25, 2012

Edward E. Buddy Rowh, 85, of Fritch died December 25, 2012 in Amarillo. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday at Riverview Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Howard, Former Pastor and Rev. Mark England, Pastor of Fortress Baptist Church officiating. Burial is at Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Fritch. The Lord welcomed him home on Christmas Day.

Buddy was born June 16, 1927 in Cumberland County, Virginia to John D. Rowh and Docia Keith Rowh. He joined the Navy at age 15 with his fathers signature to fight in World War II where he received the Purple Heart. After the war he became a horse wrangler and trainer and supplied horses to the movie industry. Buddy also became a Rodeo Cowboy. He was a gun enthusiast and worked for the Yake Ranch near Sanford before becoming an Instrument Technician for Natural Gas Pipeline in 1951. He married Bettye Burris June 2, 1952 in Clovis, NM. They were members of Fortress Baptist Church. Buddy retired in 1986 and devoted full time to his loves Woodworking and Oil Painting and Family. He was an accomplished artist and enjoyed going to Fun Valley, CO.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers Keith, Fred and Linn and his sister Mary Virginia Rowh Walton.

Buddy is survived by his wife of 60 years Bettye, his two sons Mark Rowh of Amarillo and Guy Rowh and wife Danna also of Amarillo, his daughter Julie Gipson and husband James of Borger, his brother in law Wayne Burris of Fritch, four grandchildren Jason Gipson and wife Tifannie, Jaryn Gipson, Darby Cantu and husband Brian, Cassie Rowh and her fianc Justin Reed and three greatgrandchildren and one on the way.

Casket bearers will be Jason Gipson, Brian Cantu, Justin Reed, Richard Pullen, Guy D. Rowh and Mark E. Rowh.
