On Wednesday, November 15, 2023, Ellen Stephens, 85, of Fritch, Texas was welcomed into her heavenly home.

Ellen was born July 11, 1938 in Farner, Tennessee to Robert and Pauline “Polly” Allen. 

Ellen had a big heart and was dearly loved by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, and friends. Several adopted her as their own grandmother. She was compassionate, kindhearted, sweet, funny, and had quite a sense of humor! 

She worked at Clarendon College as “dorm mom”, and she worked in the Hedley and Fritch public schools.

Nothing brought more joy to her life than her family.

She is preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Lisa Jill Elliott.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Coy Stephens of Fritch; daughter, Jan Elliott and Brian Sparks of Fritch; son, Creed Stephens and wife Kyra of Fritch; son James Oscar Elliott, Jr. and wife Camelia of Meadows of Dan, Virginia; son Rob Parker and wife Darlene of Jackson, Tennessee; 

grandchildren Tayla Stephens and Christopher Stephens of Fritch; grandson Malachi Elliott and wife Beth of Austin, Texas; granddaughter Faith Brantley and husband Jim of Durango, Colorado; great-grandchildren Joanna, Samuel, and Isaiah Elliott of Austin, Texas; sister Roberta Carnes of Amarillo, Texas; sister Shirley George and husband Maceo of Jacksonville, Florida; brother Bill Runion and wife Sherry of Hayesville, North Carolina; brother Jim Runion and wife Penny of Vanore, Tennessee.
