Elizabeth Claire Dietz, 94 our beloved Mother, went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 4, 2018.
A Celebration of her Life will be 6:00 p.m. Tuesday at the 1st Baptist Church, where she was the longest standing member, 90 years. Pastor Charlie Morgan will officiate, with her family joining him. Burial was in Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Liz was born December 17, 1923 in Lewisville, Arkansas to Lilburn Roy Byrns and Janie Inez MacKamie Byrns. They moved to Borger in 1926 which made Liz one of the longest residents of the town. She and her husband Bob owned and operated the Dietz Christian Book Store for 25 years. She married Bob at the 1st Baptist Church in Borger March 15, 1946. She was a gifted artist but her main love was her family, who were with her as she passed from this life. She also made several quilts for her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 2006; two sisters, Ann Bell and Beverly Underwood; and her grandson, Joshua.
Liz is survived by her three sons, Mike Dietz and his wife Janis of Sulphur, OK, Andy Dietz and his wife Becky of Groom and Phil Dietz and his wife Lisa of Broken Arrow, OK; her eleven grandchildren, Jason, Jeff, Emily, Joel, Jonathan, Matthew, Amy, David, Zach, Ryan and Tyler; and twenty-five great grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church in Borger in lieu of flowers.
