E. W. "Don" Cummings

E. W. (Don) Cummings went to be with the Lord on April 18, 2024, in Marietta, OK. He was a resident of Lone Grove, OK where he and his wife lived for 17 years. Private graveside services will be Monday, April 22, 2024, at Westlawn Memorial Park. Burial is under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Don was born in Paris, TX on July 26, 1947. His family relocated to Borger, TX where he graduated from Borger High School in 1964.

He married Linda K. Naylor, his high school sweetheart, December 9, 1967, while he was serving in the Us Navy as Torpedoman during the Vietnam War. After his service, he attended Baptist Bible College, and received his degree in Theology. He loved to serve in a variety of capacities in many churches. He served as youth director, teaching children to adult classes and filling in for pastors. Also, as a deacon in Keller Baptist Church, and Lone Grove Baptist Church. He retired as a supervisor of JM Huber Oil and Gas Company in Borger, TX.

He loved being with his family and being outside riding his tractor or finding something to build. Don was a loving and devoted caretaker for his wife for several years, and then for his mother-in-law Bobbie Naylor.

He was preceded in death by his parents, E. W. (Weldon) Cummings and Thelma Cummings.

Surviving is his wife, Linda. Son Michael and wife Heather. Four grandchildren, Emily Donn Cummings, Eli Cummings, Ashleigh Wood, Ragan Wood in Marietta OK. Brother Archie Cummings of Borger.
