Elmer Hollingsworth

Elmer Verdell Curly Hollingsworth, 82, died Thursday, February 18, 2010 in Panhandle.

Memorial services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Cole Goldsmith, pastor officiating. Cremation is under the direction of MintonChatwell Funeral Directors of Panhandle.

Mr. Hollingsworth was born on April 25, 1927 in Oklahoma and had been a Panhandle resident for two years, moving here from Cumberland, Oklahoma. He married Mary Tennyson on July 22, 1967 in Seminole, OK. He was a milkman for Meadow Gold and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Navy during WW II. He enjoyed camping and fishing.

Survivors include his wife Mary Hollingsworth of the home, four daughters Marsha Gayle York and husband Al of Grapevine, TX., Vicki Lee Slaughter of Watauga, TX, Rhonda Willard and husband Pete of Panhandle, Michelle Lee Parsons and husband Raymond of Amarillo, brother Donald Ray Holligsworth of Millerton, OK, three sisters Gertie Lou Jennings of Hayworth, OK, Moxelle Hudson of Idabel, OK, Faye Mosier of Great Bend, KS, eight grandchildren and six greatgrandchildren.
