Elzadia Walker

Elzadia Pope Walker, 81, died Tuesday, September 7, 2010 in Amarillo.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at New Jerusalem Church of God in Christ. Interment will be in Evergreen Garden at Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of MintonChatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Mrs. Walker was born on January 12, 1929 in Pittsburg, Texas to Sullivan and Parilee Pope. She retired after 19 years from the janitorial department of Claude Robertson Construction. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, Grandmothers Club, and House of Friends. Elzadia was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, four brothers and her husband, Frank Walker.

She is survived by her daughter Yvette Peanut Powell and Jeff Maxwell of Borger, stepson I. W. Walker and wife Bertha of Borger, three grandchildren Eric Powell, Christie Powell and Tony Powell and three greatgrandchildren Devante Brown, Kirrah Powell and Kaeden Jennings.

Casket bearers will be Alvin Ferguson, Daniel Burse, Cedric Dickson, Manny Dickson and Michael Brooks.
