Elzie "Whitey" Gage, 91, died October 12, 2016 in Stinnett. Funeral service will be 4:30 p.m. Saturday at the 1st Baptist Church in Stinnett with Rev. Leonard Forsythe, pastor of Bible Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Stinnett Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Whitey was born February 8, 1925 in Delaware, OK to Joe and Francis Crupper Gage. He proudly served in the U. S. Navy during WW II. He married Ivy Gene Wells on October 23, 1947 in Byers Corner, TX. Whitey was a foreman for J. M. Huber Corp for thirty years. He loved playing golf, fishing, hunting, bowling and playing basketball with his kids and grandkids. He also loved going to family reunions.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Donna Lewis, his son Robert Gage, his grandson Ray Lewis, son in law Jim Pryor, Jr. and three sisters.
Whitey is survived by his wife of 68 years Ivy Gene, his son William Gage and his wife Cara of Stinnett, his three daughters Susie Simmons of Yuma, AZ, Teresa Gage of Stinnett and Monica Pryor of Catoosa, OK, 11 Grandchildren, Alesha Hawkins and Matt, Jason Gage, Mark Dozier and Shannon, Brian Simmons and Tiffany, Chancey Simmons, Trent Milecky and Stacey, Jason Dozier and Annie, Shoshawna Bently and Tim, Alecia Murphy, Meagan Turner and Cade and Tyler Gage and Brit, 26 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandchild.
