Erlene Hagburg, 88, was called to her eternal home surrounded by loved ones on September 1, 2021. She entered this world on January 2, 1933 in Erskine, MN, born to Earl and Genevieve Jorgenson.
Erlene loved the Lord and lived her life to serve Him. She was an active member of the First United Methodist of Borger since 1969, and served as the choir director for numerous years. God blessed Erlene with a beautiful voice which she used to minister to all at countless weddings, funerals, baptisms and special events.
She was the director and president of the Borger Music Club and sang in the Borger Community Choir. She and her husband Allen were also passionate about both the Emmaus Community and Kairos Prison Ministry, sharing their love of the Lord.
Erlene was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a wonderful baker and home maker who said "God was her employer".
She is survived by two sons, David Hagburg and wife Kathy of Manchester Township, NJ and Mark Hagburg of Houston, TX; two daughters, Connie Jones and Husband Mickey of Shamrock, TX and Karen Fondren of Borger; seven grandchildren, Holly Lindley and husband Lance, Kevin Jones and wife Casey, Jordan Glassey and husband Joe Don, Madison DiMatteo and husband Austin, Elliot Hagburg and wife Jillian, Chase Wheeler, Zach Fondren and wife Nadia and 11 great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 10, 2021 at Westlawn Memorial Park with the Rev. Stan Cosby officiating. Arrangements are by Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
The family suggests memorial be made to Borger Salvation Army, The Borger Rainbow Room or High Plains Food Bank.
