Esther Brooks

Esther Leila Brooks went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on October 6, 2013, in Fort Worth, Texas. Esther was born on January 29, 1926 in New Berlin, New York to Harrison J. and Leila M. Burdick Camp. In July of 1957, she married Thomas T. Brooks of Borger, Texas. Once married, they lived in Borger where Esther taught elementary school at Crockett Elementary and Borger Middle School, retiring in 1991. Tom and Esther were longtime members of First Baptist Church of Borger where she faithfully served as church organist for 32 years. In addition to playing both the organ and piano, Esther was also an accomplished cellist, playing for many years in several different orchestras and musical groups in Borger. She continued to live in Borger after Toms death in 2005. In December, 2009, Esther moved to Fort Worth, Texas where she lived until her passing.

Survivors include three sons Stephen Brooks and his wife, Betsy, of Fort Worth, Texas Phillip Brooks and his wife, Jenny, of Denton, Texas Mark Brooks and his wife, Patricia, of Saint Paul, Minnesota four grandsons Andrew Brooks, Matthew Brooks, Dylan Brooks, and Noah Brooks one sister Marian Heath of Douglassville, Pennsylvania one sisterinlaw Jane Jackson of Amarillo, Texas numerous other family members and friends.

The family will receive visitors at MintonChatwell Funeral Home in Borger from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday, October 10, 2013. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, October 11, 2013 at Silverton Cemetery at Silverton, Texas under the direction of MintonChatwell Funeral Directors of Borger, Texas.

Memorials may be made in Esthers name to Mission Aviation Fellowship or First Baptist Church of Borger, Texas.
