Borger

Floyd Harold Cox, 81, of Borger, went to be with his heavenly father Tuesday. Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Hutchison, pastor officiating and Rev. Darrell Burton, Chaplain of Hospice Southwest and Dickie Haney, nephew, assisting. Interment will follow in the Garden of Hope at Westlawn Memorial Cemetery under the direction of MintonChatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. Graveside services will be conducted by L.W. Henshaw, son-in-law.

Casket bearers will be Matt Smith, Duane Hodge, Tim Sudbrink, Bill Todd, Joe Brawley and Paul Thomas.

Mr. Cox was born March 29, 1927 in Holiday, TX to Joseph B. and Alma Cox. He served in the United States Army during WWII and married Mattie Trammel August 23, 1947 in Vernon, TX. They moved from Sentinel, OK to Borger making this his home for the past 60 years. He retired from B.I.S.D. as Maintenance Supervisor after 26 years. Calvary Baptist Church was his church home. Floyd was an avid sports fan, a master woodworker; he loved fishing and listening to gospel music.

Mr. Cox is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers Glenn Cox, Jiggs Cox and J.B. Cox, Jr.; and a granddaughter Amanda Carder.

He is survived by his wife - Mattie of the home; a daughter LaDonna Henshaw and husband L.W. of Arlington, TX; a sister Dora Haney of Borger, TX, a granddaughter Cristin Carder of Amarillo, TX; three step grandchildren Sage Henshaw, Macy Henshaw and Levi Henshaw all of Arlington, TX and numerous nieces and nephews and extended family and friends who were very dear to him.

The family will be staying at 1105 Cooley Drive in Borger.
