Floyd Sterling, 97 of Borger died Tuesday, June 30th in Borger. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Monday, July 6th in Minton Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Fritch.
Floyd was born May 17, 1918 in Sapulpa, OK to Charley and Emma Bryant Sterling. He served in the US Army during WWII. He drove a truck for J.M. Huber. Married Emily Faye Sadler July 12, 1940 in Tulsa, OK. He loved to fish, play the slots, cards and dominos.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter Pat Hopper, son in law Brian Looney and four sisters.
Floyd is survived by his daughters Shirley Hammack and husband Paul: Sharon Looney all of Fritch. Sister Phyllis Meaker of Sand Springs, OK. Five grandchildren Keith and wife Kristi Hopper, Kevin and wife Fran Hopper, Nathan and wife Leah Henderson, Jason Looney and Amber Francis and husband Chad. Two great grandchildren Jonathan Hopper and Gentry Francis. Son in law Waudell Hopper of Fritch. Brother in law Wilbur Sadler of Tulsa, OK. Sister in law Betty Wray Tulsa, OK.
