Frances Hefner, a beloved matriarch, passed away peacefully on April 1, 2025, at the age of 90, in Stinnett, Texas. Born on December 2, 1934, in Borger, Texas, Frances was a lifelong resident of the area, where she touched the lives of many with her warmth and kindness.
Frances was married to Max Wayne Hefner on June 17, 1953, in Clayton, New Mexico. Together, they built a family that would become her pride and joy. Frances was the mother of four: son Tommy Hefner and his wife Becky of Stinnett, daughters Becky Basham of Skellytown, and Angela Cook, and her husband Travis, of Howe, Texas; and daughter in law Sandra Hefner. She was not only a devoted mother but also a doting grandmother to her cherished grandchildren: Amanda (Jason) Welch, Amy (Bryan) Day, Keith Hefner, Max Lee Hefner, Joshua Hefner, and Melissa (Ronnie) Garth. Her legacy extends to her great-grandchildren, including Chase Farrar, Bradley Farrar, Sophie Day, Julia Day, Conner Garth, Zane Garth, and Harper Garth, as well as her two great great-grandchildren, Lukas Farrar and Violet Farrar.
Frances had a vivacious spirit and a creative soul. She loved being a grandma, nurturing relationships with her grandchildren through her hobbies of sewing quilts and crafting. She also found joy in raising miniature horses and was known for her thoughtful gestures, such as sending cards to shut-ins—an example of her caring nature. Throughout her life, Frances cultivated deep connections and shared her love generously with her family and friends.
Frances is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Max, their son Rick Hefner, their granddaughter Jessica Page, and son-in-law Charles Basham. Her passing leaves a void in the hearts of her loved ones, yet her memory will forever remain a guiding light.
