Francis Joseph Neusch, 97, of Panhandle was called to the Lord on January 26, 2013 in Panhandle.
Rosary will be said at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Panhandle at 6:30 p.m. Monday, January 28, 2013. Funeral mass will also be at St. Theresa Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 29, 2013 with Father Tony Neusch and Father John Dalton concelebrating. Interment will follow at the St. Francis Cemetery east of Amarillo on Hwy 60 under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Panhandle.
Francis was born in Potter County on January 27, 1915 to Henry J. and Anna Mary Catherine Detten Neusch. Francis married Hilda Aichlmayr on November 14, 1938. In 1953 they moved to a farm 15 miles northwest of Panhandle where Francis farmed and raised eight children. Francis and Hilda moved to Panhandle in 1978, but Francis continued to farm with his son until he retired in 1993.
Francis was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Hilda C. Aichlmayr Neusch, his second wife Merle Hendrix Neusch, a daughter Barbara Hammer, five sons Claude, Vincent, Garland, Marvin Neusch, and one unnamed.
Survivors include four daughters, Amelia Bellar and husband Lee of Amarillo, Diane Whitaker of Amarillo, Millie Robertson and husband Gary of Panhandle, and Noreen Harris of Amarillo, three sons, Edwin Neusch and wife Pat of Amarillo, Leonard Neusch and wife Marie of Amarillo, and Vernon Neusch and wife Wynell of Panhandle, one brother Cyril Neusch and wife Celia of Amarillo, 20 grandchildren, 35 greatgrandchildren, and 4 greatgreatgrandchildren.
The family suggests memorials be made to the School Sisters of St. Francis, Box 906, Panhandle, Texas 79068.
