Francois Harris

Francois Frank Ellis Harris, 88, died Wednesday, January 26, 2011 in Amarillo.

Celebration of life services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the First United Methodist Church in Borger with Rev. Johnny Robertson pastor officiating. Interment will be at Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of MintonChatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Mr. Harris was born December 9, 1922 in Merkel, Texas to Robert Ellis and Annie Josephine Harris. He attended school in Merkel and Texas Tech University and was in the Army Air Corp during WW II.

Frank married the love of his life, Jewell Vivian Pieper, September 6, 1952. They shared a joyful life together raising their four children in Borger. They moved to Boise, ID in 1974 and returned to Borger in 2005. Frank was a C.R. Anthony Co. manager for 43 years, and Jewell often worked with him in the store. He was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church, which he served in many different capacities.

Mr. Harris was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, James Harris Robert Harris and one sister, Connie Hendricks, and soninlaw Marvin Reagan.

His survivors include his wife Jewell Harris of the home, four sons Stanley Harris and wife Iris of Arlington, James Harris and wife Ann of Fort Worth, Frank Harris and wife Connie of Borger, Ron Harris of Edmond, OK, three daughters Pat Crawford and husband David of Weatherford, TX, Cynthia Reagan of Panhandle, and Debbie Anderson and husband Andy of Emmett, Idaho, twentyfour grandchildren and twentynine greatgrandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be made to First United Methodist Church, 200 N. McGee, Borger, TX 79007.

Visitation will be Friday, January 28th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
