Frank Watson

December 23, 1926 — June 10, 2012

Frank Lee Watson went to be with the Lord on June 10,2012. Viewing will be at Mintons Funeral Home in Fritch, Texas. Funeral services will be conducted by Reverend Chris Rawlinson at Gateway Baptist
Church at 10:00 am Wednesday June 13th with interment at Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Fritch.

Frank was born in Borger, Texas to Vaughn and Myrtle Watson on December 23,1926. The family moved to Oklahoma City and then to Houston. While in Houston, Frank enlisted in the Army to serve in WWII. He was dismissed from the service in 1949 with an honorable discharge.
Frank then went to work for a seismograph company out of Cheyenne, OK. While employed for them he traveled through Oklahoma and then Kansas.
While in northwest Kansas he made a trip to Caldwell, Ks. There he met the love of his life in June of 1949. He married Valene Jean Mercer on November 22, 1949. They were married for 62 years. They had five children.

Frank, Valene and a young daughter moved back to Borger in 1950 where he went to work for Phillips Carbon Black. He retired from there after 34 years. Frank and Valene have lived in Hutchinson County for 62 years.

Frank is survived by his wife Valene of the home, daughter Vickie Allen of Fritch, daughter Sonja Butler and husband David of Dumas, daughter Virginia Tollison of Fritch, son Charles Watson and wife Shirley of Fritch, daughter Jean Kelly and husband Joe of Fritch, bothers J. C. of Sanford and Vaughn Jack of Houston. 10 grandchildren and 18 greatgrandchildren, plus several others who called him Grandpa. Frank loved them all.

Frank was preceded in death by his Mother and Dad, 2 sisters, 1 grandson and 2 nieces.
