Franklin Joe Tate, 75, of Borger, died Friday, December 2, 2011 in Borger.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at the Minton Memorial Chapel with Rev. Melvin Brooks of Borger officiating. Interment will follow in the garden of hope at Westlawn Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Joe Tate was born November 3, 1936 in Linden, Texas to Joe Franklin and Ira Mae Tate. He married Lorna Mae McGowan March, 31, 1966 in Pampa, and had lived in Borger for 43 years moving from Pampa. Joe was a Baptist, and served his country in the Army National Guard. He loved camping, fishing, traveling, the Dallas Cowboys, and K9 training.

Survivors include his wife Lorna three sons Jack Youngblood and wife Shirley of Elk City, Oklahoma, John Tate Russell and wife Elizabeth of Borger, Doug Tate and wife Karen of New Boston, Texas three daughters Merinda Burkhalter and husband Paul of Borger, Ramona Carrell also of Borger, Paula Shook and husband Roger of Clarendon 10 grandchildren, and several great and greatgreat grandchildren.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, and two sons Brian and Kevin Tate.

Family will be at 1121 Coble St. in Borger.
