Fred Northrup

Borger - Fred Neal Fredie Northrup, 73, of Stinnett died Thursday in Amarillo. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday at Bible Baptist Church with Rev. Leonard Forsythe, Pastor officiating. Interment will follow in Stinnett Cemetery under the direction of Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. Fredie has been a resident of the Borger area since 1950 and was a Borger Firefighter for 38 years. He achieved the rank of Captain in the Borger Fire Department. He married Claudette Watkins October 22, 1975 in Clayton, NM. He also worked as a Security Guard for Sterling Security after retirement. Fredie was a roll member of the Cherokee Nation. He was known and loved by his many friends. He was preceded in death by a son Richard Wiles in 2001 and sister Geraldine Fitzgerald in 1994. Mr. Northrup is survived by his wife Claudette, 1 son Frosty Northrup and wife Debbie of Borger, 7 Daughters - Charlotte Holland and husband Randy of Monahans, TX, Janella Ferguson and husband Bobby of Stinnett, Christy Joe West of Stinnett, Corrina Northrup of Stinnett, Valetta Jones and husband Kenneth of Fritch, Velva Kellogg and husband Jimmy of Borger and Rita Wiles and husband Randy of Hinton, OK, 1 sister Mary Lou Yell of Amarillo, 19 Grandchildren and 17 Great-Grandchildren. The family will be staying at 316 Caliche.
