Freddy Skidmore

Freddy "Fred" Ray Skidmore, 86, passed away Saturday, July 25, 2015.

Funeral service will be held 2 pm Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at Panhandle Church of Christ. Burial will follow in Panhandle Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Panhandle. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 from 6-8 pm at the funeral home.

Fred was born September 17, 1928 in Hollis, Oklahoma to Lillian (Dowdy) and Lee Roy Skidmore. He proudly served in the United States Army. Fred married the love of his life, Pauline Carter, on March 16, 1957 in Pampa. He was a member of Panhandle Church of Christ. Fred retired from the Texas Highway Department in Borger after forty years of service. He was a true family man and enjoyed watching sports with his grandson.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jimmy, Bill, Tommy and sister, Joyce Wolf.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Pauline of the home; daughter, Sherry Mitchell of Panhandle; son, Mickey Skidmore and wife Donna of Panhandle; grandson, Tyler Mitchell and wife Crystal of Fritch; step-granddaughter, Dayna Wells; great granddaughter, Alexandra; step great grandchildren, Michael, Brandon, Aaron, Tobey, Oliver, Annabelle, Alyssa; brother, Bob Skidmore and wife Benitta of Pampa; sister, Johnnie Faye McWilliams of Blackwell, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Integra Hospice, especially Carolyn and Kim for their loving attention.
