Garnetta Mae Roediger 92 Burleson, TX

Mrs. Roediger died Monday, March 27 at home with her family by her side. She was born on October 16, 1924 in a country farmhouse near Dodson, TX to Verdie and Farris Cornelius.



She was preceded in death by her mother, Verdie at age 2 and was raised by her father and step-mother, Charlie Joe Cornelius. They moved to the Phillips, TX area and she graduated from Phillips High School, where she met the love of her life and high school sweetheart, Orville Roediger. They were married on May 28, 1942 and lived a happy life together for 64 years. Mr. Roediger preceded her in death in 2006. She is also preceded in death by a son, Dennis Roediger and his infant son, Jeffrey Roediger.

She is survived by her son, Rev. Terry Roediger, wife Donna Roediger of Burleson, TX., Daughter Kimberly Roediger of Irving, TX., Brother F.M. Cornelius and wife Sonja Cornelius of Guymon, OK., three grandchildren; Teri Roediger-Wilborn of Fort Worth, TX., Kadee Allen and husband Louis Allen of Burleson, TX, and Christopher Brown of Peoria, AZ. T hree great-grandchildren; Ashlyn and husband Raymond Gilbert of Watauga, TX., MacKenzie Roediger of Burleson TX., and Trey Allen of Burleson, TX; and one great-great-granddaughter, Adalynn Gilbert of Watauga, TX., and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She worked for J.C. Penny Co. in Borger, TX for many years, but her main priority was always caring for her growing family.

She will be laid to rest at Memory Gardens in Pampa, TX under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
