Gary Lynn McDaniel

Gary Lynn McDaniel, 75, passed away Thursday, September 19, 2024.

Graveside services will be held at 10 am on Monday, September 23, 2024, in Stinnett Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm on Sunday, September 22, 2024, at the funeral home in Borger. In lieu of flowers his memory may be honored with a gift to Faith City Missions, 600 N Tyler St, Amarillo, Texas, 79107 or to High Plains Food Bank, 815 Ross St, Amarillo, Texas, 79102.

Gary was born June 8, 1949, in Burnet, Texas to Claude McDaniel and Ora Neal Elliott McDaniel. He married Connie Monden on August 25, 1974, in Waco. Gary was known for his sense of humor and orneriness. He enjoyed fishing, playing racquetball and watching football, mainly the Dallas Cowboys. Nothing brought more joy to his life than his family. 

He is preceded in death by his father, Claude McDaniel; mother, Ora Neal Cosper; and brother, Marshal McDaniel.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Connie McDaniel of Stinnett; son, Jason McDaniel of Stinnett; daughters, Carrie Sengvilay and husband P.S. of Wichita, Kansas, Laura Walker and husband R.W. of New Boston, Texas, Jenny Ligon and husband Bill of Stinnett, Jami Short and husband Yancey of Andrews; seventeen grandchildren; four great grandchildren with two on the way; brother, Bobby McDaniel and wife Linda of Katy; sister, Debbie Griffin and husband Rick of Killeen; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family.
