Gary Winters

Gary Dale Winters, 63, of Borger died Friday August 3, in Amarillo.
Gary was born on September 29, 1954 in Borger, to Jack and Dorothy (Tatum) Winters. He graduated Phillips High School in 1973 and married the love of his life, Sharen Dietz on November 22, 1980 in Happy, Texas. He loved the Texas Longhorns, baseball, and was an avid golfer. He officiated baseball and basketball games for many years. Gary was a Food Service Captain for the Clements Unit of TDCJ for 28 years.
Gary was preceded in death by his father, a sister, Jean Spencer, nephew Bryan Tracy, and a grandson, Maddox Winters.
Gary is survived by his wife, Sharen of the home; his mother Dorothy; sons, Bradley Winters and wife, Samantha and Ryan Winters and wife, Casey all of Amarillo; brothers, Jackie Winters of Abilene and Rudy Thomas of Plano; sister, Terri Willis of Borger. Gary was blessed with one grandson, Marshall Winters.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 6, 2018 at St. Johns Catholic Church with Father Jim Schmitmeyer officiating. Burial will follow at Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors.
