Gene Floyd

Gene Floyd, 68, passed away Monday, May 26, 2014.

Funeral service will be 10 am Thursday, May 29, 2014 at The River in Panhandle. Burial will follow at 2:30 pm at Rowe Cemetery in Hedley, Texas. The family will receive guests on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at the funeral home form 57 pm. In lieu of flowers the family asks that his memory be honored with a gift to Cal Farleys Boys Ranch, 600 SW 11th Ave, Amarillo, Texas 79101 or The City Church 205 S Polk St, Amarillo, Texas 79101.

Gene was born June 21, 1945 in Clarendon, Texas to Ed and Jeannette Floyd. He graduated from Hedley High School in 1963. He married Lula Pearl Pete Watson on November 9, 1979 in Claude, Texas. Gene worked as a farm manager for Simms and Son in Panhandle for 43 years.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Pete and father, Ed Floyd.

Survivors include his mother, Jeannette Floyd of Hedley son, Tony Floyd and his wife, Jennifer of Hedley daughters, Julie Sims of Panhandle, Kandy Pounds and her husband, Denny of Amistad, New Mexico, Tammy Whitley and her husband, Odis of Miami, Texas girlfriend, Nancy Simpson of Amarillo brother, Jerry Floyd and his wife, Kim of Baconton, Georgia sisters, Jan Alexander and her husband, Gary of Memphis, Texas, Janie Hill and her husband, Ronnie of Hedley, Pat Peters and her husband, Eddie of Texarkana, Arkansas fourteen grandchildren four great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
