Gene Smith

Gene Jones Smith, 92 of Panhandle died Wednesday December 30th in Amarillo. Funeral services will be 10:00 am Monday, January 4th at The War Memorial Building in Panhandle with Dr. Jerry Lane of White Deer United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Panhandle Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Panhandle.

Gene served in the US Navy during WWII and Korean war. He retired from the US Postal service in Panhandle after 40 years.

Gene was preceded in death by his wife Doris " Dot " Smith.

He is survived by two brothers Scoot Smith of San Diego, CA and Don Smith of Oklahoma City, OK. Two nieces Donna Maria Smith and Patsy Quade. Seven nephews Ed Smith, Matthew Smith, Mark Smith, Freddie Smith, Jim Elder, Bob Elder and Dale Elder. Also several great nieces and nephews.
