Geneva Flo Richardson

Geneva Flo Richardson, 96, passed from this life Friday, November 22, 2024 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 30, 2024 at the Calvary Baptist Church in Panhandle. Graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday in the Dreamland Cemetery in Canyon under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Panhandle.

Flo was born September 10, 1928 in Berryville, Arkansas to Jacob Parker Hammons and Bessie Fern Buchanan Hammons. She attended West Texas State College where she met the love of her life, Thurman Joel Richardson. She and Thurman were married March 26, 1948 in Canyon. She has lived in Panhandle since 1951 and was a founding member of the Calvary Baptist Church where she served in many positions and taught Sunday School for many years. She loved taking care of kids, she went to all the activities for her kids and grandkids whether it be sports, band or choir she could be found cheering them on. She was very active in her church and her community and was a wonderful cook.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, five brothers Orley, Troy, Owen, Crosby and Don Hammons and her sister Thelma Mead.

Flo is survived by her four sons, Joel Richardson and his wife Janet of Amarillo, Gary Richardson and his wife Karla of Forney, TX, Keith Richardson and his wife Sandy of Amarillo and Jamie Richardson of Celina, TX, her two daughters Geneva Gray of Panhandle and Cherie Chechourka and her husband Dave of Amarillo, fourteen grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.

Casket bearers will be her grandsons Jody Atchley, Justin Richardson, Cody Richardson, Chase Richardson, Seth Richardson, Ryan Richardson and Nathan Chechourka.

The family suggests donations to Calvary Baptist Church in Panhandle in her honor.
