Genevieve Summers Burt, 87, died Wednesday, December 28, 2011 in Amarillo.

Services will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, December 31, 2011 at the Fritch Church of Christ with Mr. Richard Kasko, Minister officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden Of Devotion at Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Genevieve was born on March 22, 1924 in Ireland, Texas to Dave and Kate Adams. She married Paul D. Burt, June, 1956 in Gatesville, Texas. Genevieve was a cook for the Fritch Schools, and was a member of the Fritch Church of Christ. She enjoyed gardening, bird watching, playing games, especially cards, she laughed when she lost, and laughed when she won. Genevieve was a family person who loved her family very much.

Genevieve was preceded in death by her husband, parents, six brothers, and three sisters.

Survivors include two sons Clyde Coward and Ernie Burt, both of Fritch three daughters Donna Krug and husband Hunter, Debbie Overbay and husband Neal, both of Fritch, Diane Hicks of Borger brotherinlaw C.P. Red Whatley of Fritch a sister Elizabeth Brown of Gatesville, Texas sisterinlaw June Adams of Fritch 15 grandchildren 17 great grandchildren 1 great great grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Donations may be made to the Craig Methodist Alzeimers Unit 5500 W. 9th. St. Amarillo, Texas 79106.
