He loved sports and education and supported his children, grandchildren, and other local youth in their various competitive endeavors. Once George retired, he enjoyed playing golf, where he was quite accomplished as evident by scoring a holeinone, and many times shooting under his age. He volunteered for several years at Living Waters. He also greatly enjoyed a home he and his sons built in Crestone, Colorado, where he would hike and fish, and also enjoyed visiting a variety of casinos across the country where penny slots were his game. His children would endorse his feeding the slots, joking that he would be spending the others inheritance.
George was much loved by his family and friends. He never knew a stranger and will be sadly missed by all. He was known as a very dependable and standbyhisword man.
