George Wright

George Wright, 92,was called to his heavenly home on February 10, 2019. He entered this world on June 6, 1926 on the family farm in Mobeetie, TX, born to John and Earcle Wright. Graveside Military services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

He proudly served in the U. S. Army from 1944 to 1946. After his service he came to Borger to work for Southwestern Public Service and the Riverview Plant. He retired in 1986. George dearly loved his grandkids and great grandkids, he also loved fishing, hunting and playing cards and dominoes. He was a lifetime member of the VFW and a longtime member of the 1st Church of the Nazarene.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Helen O'Dell Wright in 1996, his wife Johnnie Meador Wright in 2007, his brother J. Y. Wright, his four sisters; Stella Guthrie, Jean Doman, Emma DeWitt and Reba Fields.

George is survived by his daughter Gayle Gray and her husband James (Griz) of Fritch, his son John Wright and his wife Evelyn of Fritch, his sister Beulah McCafflin of Chichasha, OK, his four grandchildren James N. Gray III and his wife Kerri, Sgt. Major David J. Gray and his wife Sarah, John David Wright and Brandi and his six great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
