George Yates

April 25, 1919 — July 10, 2013

George Halbrook Yates, 94, died July 10, 2013 in Amarillo. Military graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

He was born April 25, 1919 in Union County, NM to William and Della Ware Yates and had lived in this area since 1960. George loved to do yard work and taking care of his home and he loved the Lord.

He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy in 2009, his parents, two brothers and one sister.

Mr. Yates is survived by his son Larry Yates of Amarillo, his two daughters Sue Love and husband Larry of Pampa and Pam McCormick and husband Glenn of Stinnett, 7 Grandchildren and 19 Great Grandchildren.

The family wishes to thank the management and staff of UsseryRoan Texas State Veterans Home for the loving care they gave Mr. Yates the past four years.
