Gerald Batenhorst

Gerald Robert Batenhorst passed from this life March 9, 2023. Graveside services will be 10:00 am Monday, March 13, 2023 at Stinnett Cemetery. Burial is under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Gerald was born July 30, 1940 in Hereford Texas, to Henry John Batenhorst and Veronica Clara Schuele Batenhorst. Gerald married Myrtle, his wife of 48 years, on February 6, 1971. Gerald was a proud member of the "Mack-Million Mile Club" which he achieved several years before his retirement from Borger Sand & Gravel.

His wife, Myrtle Helen Bjerke Batenhorst preceded Gerald in death on October 30, 2019. He was also preceded in death by his parents, and six brothers, Wilfred, Harold, Joe, Henry M., Gene and Jimmy.

He is survived by his two sisters, Margaret Hammer of Panhandle and Burnadette Spurgeon of Austin; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and longtime friends.

He will be remembered for his grateful spirit and smile that lit up the Wellington Care Center, where he resided the last few years.
