Panhandle Geraldine Margaret Jerry Nunn, 88 died in Amarillo on Wednesday. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the 1st United Methodist Church in Panhandle with Rev. Bud Kidwell, Pastor officiating. Interment will follow at the Panhandle Cemetery under the direction of Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Panhandle.
Jerry was born May 10, 1920 in Panhandle to Stala and Margaret Bobbitt. She graduated from Panhandle High School in 1937. After graduation, she worked at the Carson County Courthouse and married John Nunn, a Texas Highway Patrolman on March 16, 1940 in Panhandle.
Jerry had a servants heart and was always seeking to help others. She was active in the Methodist Church and enjoyed serving on the Nurture and Care Committee and volunteering at St. Anns Nursing Home. She was a member of the Eastern Star and the Atheneum Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband John in 1988 and 2 Sisters Charlotte Moss and Helen Whitney.
Jerry is survived by her 2 sons Larry Nunn and wife Peggy of Panhandle, and Joe Nunn and wife Barbara of Pampa, 2 brothers Glen Bobbitt and wife Lois of Amarillo and Fred Bobbitt of Arizona, 11 Grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren and many Nieces and Nephews.
There will be a visitation time at the Funeral Home from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
The Family suggests memorials to the Nurture and Care Committee at 1st United Methodist Church in Panhandle or your favorite charity.
The Family would also like to relate their sincere gratitude to all the staff at Outreach Health Services, especially her nurse, Tanya and also her Carmor Medical Equipment representative, Chad Paggett.
