Gertrude Blackman

Gertrude "Tiny" Blackman went on to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 4, 2018. Tiny was born July 7, 1935, in Clarksville, Texas, to Jim and Haddie Childress.
Tiny was raised in Clarksville and moved to Borger in 1959. She married Oliver Blackman in 1960. Oliver preceded her in death. Tiny raised her children in Borger as she worked as a cook in various cafes in town including Sands, Nu-Way and Darbys Grill. She loved working in her yard with her plants and flowers and with her furry companion, Tiffy.
Tiny is survived by two daughters and two sons, Gloria Dean Bunn of Borger, Jimmie (Avelina) Childress of Carlsbad, Dale (Susan) Blackman of Lubbock, Vernicer (Cedric) Parker of Denver; sister, Jenny Dickson of Wichita Falls; five grandchildren, Barrett and Ronae Bunn, Jeremy Childress, Cassius and Canita Parker; five great-grandchildren, Chelsea Hooper, Keelan, Devante, Jaleel and Omarion Childress; and many nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be held 11 am Saturday, July 7, 2018 in the Minton Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm on Friday, July 6, 2018 at the funeral home.
