Gilbert Williams

Borger - Funeral services for Gilbert Eugene Gene Williams, 85, will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Bunavista Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Hensley, Pastor and Rev. Philip Hilton, 1st Baptist Church in Sunray officiating. Interment will follow at Westlawn Memorial Park in the Garden of Love under the direction of Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors. He was born February 12, 1922 in Roberta, Oklahoma. Gene went to be with the Lord Friday March 30, 2007 in Ridgeland, Mississippi. He lived in Borger from 1945 until October 2006 when he went to live near his son and daughter. Gene was employed by Phillips Petroleum Company at the Plains Plant and the Philtex facilities from 1945 until his retirement in 1982. He was a long standing member of the Bunavista Baptist Church. He served in the USArmy Aior Corp durring WWII.BR He was preceded in death by his wife Louise, parents Pate and Maude Williams, three sisters and three brothers. Survivors include two sons Ron Williams of Durango, CO and Terry Williams of Ridgeland, MS, one daughter Sandi Wells of Ridgeland, MS and one brother Don Williams of Borger, six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. There will be a family visitation at 7:00 p.m. Monday evening at Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors in Borger. The family requests that memorials be made to his church, Bunavista Baptist Church, 2 Amaryllis St. Borger, TX 79007.
