Gladys Bedenk

Gladys M. Tolbert Bedenk, 76, passed away Sunday, January 3, 2016.

Graveside service will be held 2:30 pm Wednesday, January 6, 2016 in Panhandle Cemetery with Rev. Jerry Lane, officiating. Burial will follow in Panhandle Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Panhandle. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers her memory may be honored with a gift to a charity of choice or Garretson Center, P.O. Box 1239, Panhandle, Texas 79068.

Gladys was born February 14, 1939 in Donley County to Ruby (Kelly) and John Tolbert. She attended school at Claude. Gladys married John Bedenk in December of 1956.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 2013; son, John W. Bedenk in 1985; sisters, Mryle Jean Creely in 1979, Barbara Rose Tolbert O'Daniel in 2008; and brothers, Truett Tolbert in 2012 and Paul Tolbert in 2009.

Survivors include her daughters, Katherine Murray and husband Billy, Jr. of Panhandle, Anita Yandell of Houston; five grandchildren, Leroy Smith and wife Kathy of White Deer; Sherman R. Johnson and wife Kate of Chicago, Illinois, Jesse Maybaugh and Charity E. Maybaugh of Houston, Shandy D. Bedenk of Broken Bow, Oklahoma; eight great grandchildren; Kolby Hallman, Brennan Richard, Evo Beach, Cody Van Fleet, Wesley Jay Davis, Aden Davis, Logan Smith, Bree Smith; sister-in-law, Carlene Tolbert; and many nieces and nephews.
