Glen Leven

Glen Michael Leven, 59, left this world on Monday, February 15, 2016.

Funeral service will be held 10 am Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at First United Methodist Church of Panhandle with Rev. Randy Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in the Panhandle Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Panhandle. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at the funeral home.

Glen was born on September 3, 1956 to Evelyn (Irlbeck) and Henry Leven. He grew up and lived his life in Panhandle, Texas. He attended Panhandle schools until 1975. Glen began "farming for a dime an hour" at the age of eight and continued to be involved with the farm until his death. He loved farming and fully supported his farming community. Glen was dedicated to promoting his hometown.

In 1979, Glen began his job as a father beginning with John Leven who was soon followed by James Leven. Justin Leven and Janay Leven eventually followed. In 1990, Glen opened Leven's Feed Lot in an effort to assist 4H and FFA students for shows and the business just grew. Glen enjoyed fun times and pursued a variety of hobbies. He loved the mountains, hunting and fishing and riding four wheelers. On 777, Glen married Roneen Raff Durst and they began an adventure together.

He was proceeded in death by his grandparents and his uncle.

He is survived by his parents, Evelyn Leven of Amarillo, Henry Leven and wife Louella of Panhandle; wife, Roneen Leven; his children, John and wife Sarah of Panhandle, James and wife Allison of Borger, Justin and wife Valerie of Panhandle, and Janay of the home; his step-children: Daneen Velasquez and husband Joe of Amarillo, Marissa Norsworthy and husband Jason of Amarillo, and Luke Durst and wife Tori of Panhandle; fourteen grandchildren that he was proud of; his brothers and sisters, Neal Leven and wife Diane of Roswell, NM, Eric Leven of Amarillo, Jean Holsenbeck and husband John of Lubbock, Jill Leven of Lubbock; and a multitude of beloved nieces and nephews.
